Hailing from Kentucky, Black Stone Cherry is gearing up to release their upcoming EP, Celebrate. Due for release on March 6th via Mascot Records, the Southern rocking quartet has shared their latest offering in the form of a swinging cover of the Simple Mind’s classic “Don’t You (Forget About Me)”. If that didn’t sound special and nostalgic enough, they’ve also enlisted the help of long-time Black Stone Cherry friend Tyler Connolly of the band Theory Of A Deadman.
“Growing up a kid born in the mid 80s I have seen The Breakfast Club more times than I can remember,” shares Chris Robertson. “One of my favourite parts of the movie was always the music and specifically ‘Don’t You!’ So when the chance for us to Black Stone Cherrify the track emerged, it was a no-brainer. We are beyond excited to share that we enlisted the help of our dear friend Tyler Connolly to help out.”
The group recently released the video for the title track “Celebrate,” which imparts the heart-warming advice to “celebrate every little thing in life, even if it’s just making it through the day.”
